Josue Privacy Policy
Josue separates the vocals and the instrumental of your songs entirely on your own phone. This policy explains, in plain language, what information is handled, who receives it, and what control you have over it.
The short version, in three lines:
1. Your music never leaves your device. Vocal/instrumental separation and every audio and video tool run locally, using AI models that ship inside the app. We do not upload, store, or listen to your files, and there is no server of ours that receives them.
2. There are no accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or a password in order to use the app.
3. What does leave your device is technical and usage data required by advertising, analytics, and the subscription system (Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, and the store you purchased from). Everything is broken down below, service by service.

1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the processing described in this document is AM Company (“AM Company”, “we”, “us”), developer and owner of the mobile application Josue (the “app”).
You can reach us about any privacy matter, including exercising your rights, at soporte@amcompany.net. We answer all privacy requests at that address.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Josue application distributed by AM Company on:
- Google Play — application ID
com.amcompany.josue. - App Store (iPhone and iPad) — bundle ID
com.amcompany.josue, App Store ID6806642442.
It does not apply to other AM Company applications, nor to any third-party websites, stores, or services the app may link to, which are governed by their own policies.
By downloading, installing, or using Josue, you accept the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
3. What stays on your device
Josue is built to work without a server. All audio and video processing — separating vocals from the instrumental, mixing, trimming, pitch shifting, noise removal, format conversion, compression, exporting — happens entirely on your device, using artificial-intelligence models installed together with the app. Separation works even in airplane mode.
This means the following information is never transmitted to AM Company or to any third party:
- The audio and video files you choose. They are read through your system’s file picker, by your explicit action, and processed locally.
- The separated tracks (vocals and instrumental) and any intermediate or exported file the app produces.
- Your projects, playlists, folders, and any names you type.
- Your mixes, automation, and preferences (library sort order, accent color, playback settings).
- Local counters for the free plan (how many separations and exports you have used in the past hour) and the internal counters that decide when to show an ad or ask for a rating.
All of it lives in the app’s private storage on your device. We have no access to it at any time, and it is deleted entirely when you uninstall the app.
When you use “Share” or “Download” on an exported file, you decide where it goes: the file is handed to the app or folder you pick (on Android, the public Downloads folder), and from that point on it is governed by the rules of that destination.
4. What is sent, and to whom
The app needs an internet connection for three things: serving ads, measuring usage in aggregate, and managing subscriptions. These are all the categories of data that leave your device, and their recipients:
| What | Why | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA) and device identifiers associated with advertising |
Serve ads, cap how often you see the same one, measure performance, and prevent ad fraud | Google AdMob |
| Technical device data: model, operating system and version, language, country, time zone, connection type, IP address | Deliver appropriate ads and content, security and diagnostics | Google AdMob, Firebase |
| Ad interactions: impressions, clicks | Measure and bill advertising | Google AdMob |
| App usage events (full list in section 6) and the app instance identifier generated by Firebase | Understand how the app is used, prioritize improvements, and measure promotional campaigns | Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Subscription status: which plan you bought, whether it is active, renewal date, store country, purchase receipt, and an anonymous identifier generated automatically | Know whether you have Premium, restore purchases, and turn off ads and limits | RevenueCat; Google Play or the App Store |
| Payment details (card, billing address, account email) | Charge the subscription | The store only (Google or Apple). AM Company never sees or receives them. |
| Remote configuration request with basic technical device data | Adjust values such as the free quota or ad frequency without shipping an update | Firebase Remote Config |
| Whatever you write in a support email, plus app version, platform, device model, OS version, and your plan type | Handle your request | AM Company and its email provider |
AM Company runs no servers of its own for this app: there is no database of ours holding your files, your activity, or your identity.
5. Advertising and consent
Josue is free and funded by advertising from Google AdMob. You will see a banner at the bottom of the screen and, occasionally, a full-screen ad after a task is finished — never in the middle of one.
Consent in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland
If you are in a region where consent is required, the app shows you — before requesting any ad — Google’s User Messaging Platform form, where you choose whether to accept personalized advertising. Your choice is passed to Google through Consent Mode, so it applies both to advertising and to the advertising signals used by analytics.
You can change that decision at any time from Settings → Ad privacy inside the app. That row appears when Google’s consent system indicates it must be available in your region.
App Tracking Transparency on iOS
On iPhone and iPad, the system asks whether you allow the app to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you say no, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized, and your IDFA will not be shared. You can change this at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. The app also uses SKAdNetwork, Apple’s framework for measuring campaign performance without identifying you.
How to limit personalized advertising
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can delete your advertising ID or turn off personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and → Apple Advertising.
- In your Google account: My Ad Center.
If you have an active Premium subscription, the app requests and displays no ads at all.
6. Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used. It does not record the contents of your files, the names you type, or anything that identifies you personally. These are all the events the app sends:
| Event | What it records |
|---|---|
separation_completed | That a separation finished, and whether the source was audio or video |
export_completed | That an export finished: format, export type, and whether it came from cache |
tool_completed | That one of the file tools finished, and which one |
paywall_viewed | That the Premium screen was opened, and from where |
purchase | That a subscription was purchased: plan, amount, and currency |
quota_blocked | That the free plan limit was reached, and on which action |
review_requested | That the rating prompt was shown (not whether you rated: neither store reports that) |
screen_view | Which screens are visited inside the app |
Property is_premium | Whether the device has an active subscription |
Firebase assigns an instance identifier to the copy of the app installed on your device. It is not linked to your name or to any account, and it disappears when you uninstall the app or clear its data. You can also reset it by clearing the app’s data from your system settings.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
Josue offers an optional Premium subscription. Billing is handled entirely by the store — Google Play or the App Store — using the payment method attached to your account. AM Company does not receive, process, or store your payment details.
To determine whether you are entitled to Premium features we use RevenueCat, a specialized provider that validates the purchase receipt against the store. RevenueCat generates an anonymous identifier for your installation: we do not send it your email, your name, or any data that identifies you.
Managing, renewing, and cancelling your subscription is done from your store account; inside the app, Settings → Manage subscription takes you straight there. Billing, renewal, and refund terms are those of Google Play and Apple.
8. Remote configuration
The app queries Firebase Remote Config to read values that can be adjusted without shipping an update (for example, how many free separations an hour includes, or how often an ad appears). That request sends basic technical device data and the app instance identifier. It sends no information about your files or your specific activity.
9. If you email support
When you use Settings → Contact, the app opens your email client with a message already prepared. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can edit or delete any part of it beforehand.
That message includes, so we can help without asking you for details nobody knows by heart: the app version, the platform (Android or iOS), the device model, the operating system version, and your plan type (free or Premium). It contains no identifier for you, your account, or your files.
When you write to us, your email address and the content of your message land in our inbox. We use them solely to handle your request.
10. What we never collect
To leave no room for ambiguity, Josue does not:
- NO upload, copy, or listen to your audio or video files.
- NO ask for or create accounts, passwords, or profiles.
- NO access your microphone or camera.
- NO access your contacts, messages, calls, or calendar.
- NO collect your precise GPS location.
- NO collect health, financial, biometric, or any special-category data.
- NO sell your personal information for money.
- NO track your activity across other apps without your explicit permission.
And, by your explicit action: it DOES read the files you pick in the system file picker, and it DOES save the result wherever you tell it to when you share or download.
11. Device permissions
| Permission or capability | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Internet access and network state | Advertising, analytics, remote configuration, and subscription validation. Audio processing does not need it. |
Advertising identifier (AD_ID and Android ad services) | Serving and measuring ads. Not used if you have Premium or if you decline personalized advertising. |
| Billing (Google Play Billing / StoreKit) | Selling and restoring the Premium subscription. |
| File selection | Opening the system picker so you can choose which song or video to process. The app only receives the file you pick, not your gallery. |
| Storage write access (older Android versions only) | Saving an exported file to the Downloads folder when you tap “Download”. On Android 10 and later no permission is requested for this. |
| Keep the screen awake | Preventing the screen from turning off while a playlist is playing. Released when playback ends. |
| Tracking (iOS only, ATT) | Asking whether you accept personalized advertising. You can say no and the app works exactly the same. |
12. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalized advertising, advertising signals used by analytics and, where the law requires it, analytics itself. You may withdraw consent at any time from Settings → Ad privacy, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): managing your Premium subscription, validating your purchase, and giving you access to what you paid for.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the app working and secure, preventing ad fraud, understanding in aggregate what works and what does not, and answering your support requests. You may object by writing to us.
- Compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)): responding to lawful requests from authorities and retaining what the law requires.
13. Recipients and international transfers
The following providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers. Each has its own policy, which we encourage you to read:
- Google (AdMob, Firebase, Google Play) — Privacy Policy · How Google uses data in advertising · Privacy in Firebase
- RevenueCat, Inc. — Privacy Policy
- Apple Inc. (App Store, StoreKit) — Privacy Policy
These providers are established in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where an international transfer takes place, it relies on the mechanisms provided for by the GDPR: adequacy decisions (such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, to which Google and other providers are certified) or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
In addition to the above, we may disclose information where necessary to comply with the law, to respond to a valid request from an authority, to enforce our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will say so on this page.
14. How long data is kept
- On your device: your files, projects, and settings are kept until you delete them in the app or uninstall Josue, at which point they are removed along with the application. Nobody else can delete them, because nobody else has them.
- Analytics: Google retains event data according to the project’s retention setting and its own policies. The instance identifier is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Advertising: retention periods are determined by Google, per its advertising policy linked above.
- Subscriptions: RevenueCat and the store keep purchase history for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet their tax and accounting obligations.
- Support emails: kept while useful for following up on your case and, afterwards, for as long as they may be needed to evidence the support provided. You can ask us to delete them.
15. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. The most important one is architectural: what never leaves the device cannot be intercepted — and your files never leave it. Data that does travel does so over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to the providers named above, and access to the support inbox is restricted.
Even so, no system is infallible: we cannot guarantee absolute security against unauthorized access, or against failures by third parties or by the device itself. Keeping your phone updated and locked is an important part of protecting your files.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to request portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
Many of those controls are directly in your hands, with no need to write to us:
- Delete everything the app stores: uninstall Josue, or clear the app’s data from your system settings.
- Stop receiving personalized ads: Settings → Ad privacy in the app, or your system’s advertising settings (section 5).
- Break the advertising link: reset or delete your advertising identifier from your system settings.
- Remove ads entirely: with an active Premium subscription the app requests no ads at all.
For anything else, write to soporte@amcompany.net stating which right you wish to exercise. We will respond within the timeframes set by applicable law.
An honest limitation, and it works in your favor: because the app has no accounts and we keep no identifiers that point to you, in most cases we cannot tell which data is yours among the data our providers process. Where that is the case, Article 11 GDPR allows us to ask you for additional information to identify you; if that is not possible, we will tell you so and point you to the direct route — usually your device settings or your Google or Apple account settings — so you can exercise control yourself.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country (in the EEA, your national data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
17. U.S. state privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Comparable rights exist in other states with similar laws.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, personalized advertising involves sharing advertising identifiers with Google, and those laws may treat that as a “sale” or as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can exercise your right to opt out immediately and without writing to anyone: decline personalization in the app’s consent form, deny the tracking permission on iOS, or turn off ad personalization in your device settings (section 5). You may also write to us at soporte@amcompany.net.
18. Children
Josue is not directed to children under 13 (nor to children under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the minimum age to consent to data processing), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app is not listed in Google Play’s “Families” program or in the App Store’s kids categories.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child in your care has provided us with personal information, write to soporte@amcompany.net and we will delete it as soon as possible.
19. Third-party links and services
The app contains links that open other apps or websites: Josue’s own store listing, the listings of other AM Company apps, the Google Play or App Store subscription screens, and your email client. Once you leave Josue, this policy no longer applies and the terms and privacy practices of that destination take over. We neither control nor are responsible for their practices.
The content you process with the app is yours and is your responsibility: make sure you hold the necessary rights to any music or video you separate, edit, or share.
20. Changes to this policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time and without prior notice. The version in force is always the one published on this page, and it takes effect the moment it is published; the “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the most recent change was made.
Where a change is substantial and applicable law requires it, we will notify you by a reasonable means — for example, a notice inside the app or a fresh request for your consent — before that change affects you.
Continuing to use Josue after a new version is published means you accept it. If you do not agree with the changes, stop using the app and uninstall it. We recommend checking this page from time to time.
